Publication Date:
April 2012
Abstract:

The video titled Creating Healthy Home Environments for Kids: Top 5 Tips has been developed by the Canadian Partnership for Children’s Health and Environment (CPCHE) as part of a broader initiative to increase awareness among prospective and new parents in Ontario about “sources of toxic chemicals, their potential health risks and practical, day-to-day strategies to reduce/prevent exposures.” As prototype version of the video was created and piloted in nine regions in the province of Ontario during October/November 2011. The aim of the pilot was to inform the final version of the video. The evaluation was designed to collect feedback from parents/guardians as well as service providers about the pilot video’s design quality and content, as well as to gauge initial knowledge changes and reported distribution preferences.
