This comprehensive call to action draws upon nearly eight years of research, consultations and action on children’s environmental health by the CPCHE partners, including a cross-Canada consultation series convened by CPCHE and Pollution Probe during 2007 (see the report of National Policy Consultation linked below). In First Steps in Lifelong Health, CPCHE calls upon the federal government to increase investment in research, improve laws and regulations, and support stronger on-the-ground protection to safeguard the developing fetus and child from risks posed by toxic chemicals and pollutants.
